Caregiver Teleconnection sessions are one hour learning sessions that can be done via Zoom or over the phone for caregivers of older persons. Experts from around the country share information important to caregiving. Caregivers will have the opportunity to ask questions as well as hear from other caregivers.

Our sessions are geared for the family members taking care of a loved one over the age of 60. Professionals are also welcome to participate as well.

Whether it is a romantic one, within a family, or a friendship, a toxic relationship typically pulls you in a cycle of abuse where you doubt yourself, always feel guilty, and desperately seek reconciliation. These relationships can diminish your self-esteem and seriously damage your mental health. Most of us have been involved in a toxic relationship at one time or another in our lifetimes. We all have been in the company of others who did not act for the greater good of anyone besides themselves.

Toxicity comes in all forms: name-calling, physical abuse, lying, gossip and all the internal turmoil that results from being in an unhealthy relationship. Whether it is a personal relationship involving a family member, lover or a friend, or a professional relationship involving a co-worker or a boss, toxic relationships can damage and leave long-lasting effects. Toxic relationships can happen to anyone, so don’t beat yourself up for engaging in an unhealthy relationship. Instead, it is possible to go from Hell to Heaven through understanding the transformational process

In Part 2 of our Series “Saying Goodbye to a Toxic relationship, Dr. Jamie summarizes part one and then lays out an understandable roadmap and coaching plan for your journey of healing and return back to the person you once were. By acknowledging your experience, you can start to understand what drives your feelings of fear and anxiety, and change your perspective over time. The beginning of the end starts with a very small step: coming to realize what CPTSD is and that the world may not be the dark, fearful, overwhelming and dread-filled place we had always assumed it had to be.

As we say, recovery might be tough ……..…but you are too!
