New Year, New Ways to Help Improve Your Well-Being

By on January 30th, 2026

A new year brings new opportunities to care for yourself, support others, and stay connected—and the WellMed Charitable Foundation is here to help every step of the way. From caregiver support and stress‑management programs to senior activities, and virtual resources, we offer a variety of ways to start the year feeling informed, supported, and empowered at NO COST.

What’s available:

  • Caregiver Teleconnection is a remote programming for family and professional caregivers taking care of a loved one. Experts around the world connect via video call to discuss important topic to caregivers and answer questions.
  • Stress-Busting Programs is an evidence-based program that helps family caregivers of persons with dementia or chronic illness. Caregivers will learn about stress and its effects, practice stress management techniques, and develop problem solving skills.  The program has been proven to:
    • Improve the quality of life of family caregivers who are providing care to an older loved one
    • Help caregivers manage their stress and cope better with their lives
  • Listen to our multiple-award winning radio show/podcast Caregiver SOS on Air
    • Join broadcaster Ron Aaron and WCF Executive Director and nationally recognized gerontologist, Carol Zernial talk with a variety of caregivers, caregiving experts and others and explore issues important to you.
  • Are you or know someone who is over 60+ years old? Join our Senior Activity Centers!
    • In-person locations: Senior activity centers, 16 locations in Texas and Florida.
    • Not near a location? Visit our Virtual Senior Center and watch guided activities from the comfort of your own home, 24/7! Fitness, live-stream travel and more, all on demand!

No matter how you hope to grow this year, the WellMed Charitable Foundation offers programs, activities, and volunteer opportunities to support your goals. We’re committed to helping caregivers, older adults, and community members stay connected, find resources, and make a meaningful impact all year long.
