Supporting seniors and their caregivers

The foundation offers a variety of programs that directly serve seniors and their caregivers across Texas and Florida. The foundation engages in partnerships that explore innovative ways to care for seniors. In addition, the foundation has contributed millions to non-profit partners who serve the senior and caregiver population.

About Our Funders

The WellMed Charitable Foundation is predominantly funded by the employees of WellMed Medical Management whose contributions are matched by WellMed Medical Management and UnitedHealth Group. Additional funding comes from business partners and event sponsors who support foundation events throughout the year.

Center For Research

The foundation also seeks partnerships with healthcare providers, grant funders, researchers and universities with a common interest to change the face of healthcare for seniors.

The WellMed Charitable Foundation was founded in 2006 by Dr. George Rapier III, a noted physician who is also the Chairman of the Board. The Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization, and the philanthropic partner of WellMed Medical Management, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas.
