Caregiver Specialist

Laura Beltrán Keown is a Caregiver Specialist under the Caregiver SOS program through WellMed Charitable Foundation. She was born and raised in San Antonio and holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Communications from St. Mary’s University. She has always worked with the senior population, first as an apartment manager with Section 8 housing, then as a Service Coordinator. She then continued her career, working with seniors, and for the next 26 years worked at the Area Agency on Aging under the Alamo Area Council of Governments. While there she worked in various capacities to include the Ombudsman program, Information and Referral, Benefits Counseling, Case Management and in a supervisory capacity in Aging services.
Laura is a certified Master Trainer for the evidence based Stress Busting Program for Family Caregivers of People with Alzheimer\\\'s disease or Other Related Dementia and Chronic Disease or Illness. (Bilingual- English & Spanish)
