The Growth team in San Antonio recently partnered with the Social Responsibility department to organize a volunteer event with broker and agency partners in the market.  Attendees met at Meals on Wheels of San Antonio to assemble emergency meal kits for older adults in the community.  Partners also received a tour of the facility from Meals on Wheels representatives.

The activity presented an opportunity to engage broker partners with WellMed Gives Back initiatives. Attendees learned more about the WellMed care model from Rita Ayala, Vice President of Growth. Claire Huerta, Social Responsibility Manager, shared an overview of the WellMed Charitable Foundation and our initiatives in the local community. 

Together, a total of 2,100 meals and 800 shelf-stable boxes were prepared by volunteers.
