The WellMed Charitable Foundation raised more than $50,000 during the annual end-of-year campaign, bringing the total raised for the year to over $3 million. 

Less than 1% of foundation giving in the U.S. is dedicated to causes focused on aging. Generous investments from South Region colleagues, WellMed and UnitedHealth Group have positioned the WellMed Charitable Foundation (WCF) as a leader in providing and funding programs that serve the aging population.   

Here are some highlights of our accomplishments in 2024:

• $250,000 in services provided to caregivers nationwide
• $600,000 in emergency assistance for older adults & employees
• $1,200,000 invested in local charities serving older adults & caregivers

Add in the investment of 13 senior centers and the total economic impact of the WCF was nearly $9 million in 2024.  We look forward to 2025 as we approach the $100 million investment mark sine the foundation began in 2006.
