Empowering Care Partners: Tips, Tools and Take Aways supporting those caring for someone living with Parkinson disease
Family members play a vital role in the life of those living with Parkinson disease. Care partners have their own journey through Parkinson disease. Care partners face daily challenges that can include concerns for their partner, depression, fears, and a variety of stressors. Care partners often find themselves last on their daily, “To Do’ list. This online seminar will focus on celebrating the Care Partners in our lives and our PD community. Together we will explore tips, tools and take aways to support care partners with the daily care of those living with PD.

Sheila Moore, LCSW, MSG
Sheila Moore, LCSW, MSG is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and has worked in the field of Aging for over 30 years. She is a clinical social worker actively participating on the multidisciplinary team providing assessment and care at the Pacific Movement Disorders Center, Pacific Neuroscience Institute at Providence St John’s Medical Center in Santa Monica, California. Sheila provides clinical support, education and resource coordination for patients diagnosed with neurodegenerative disorders like Parkinson disease. Sheila offers counseling services, assessment/intervention, and referrals to the local PD community. Sheila is proud to be the Information and Referral Coordinator for the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) for over 4 years. In collaboration with partnerships throughout Southern California, Sheila connects people with Parkinson’s disease and their care partners with community resources. Additionally, Sheila coordinates clinical services and hosts education and support programs for care partners and those living with Parkinson disease.
