Anxiety and New Science of the Brain

Decades ago we learned that we were born with all the brain cells we would ever have. Today, we know we can create new brain cells and we can change the way our brain sends and receives messages from different parts of the brain and from the body! This information can help us control the level of stress and anxiety caregivers often confront. Join us for a little brain update and some good discussion.

Evalyn Greb, LCSW
Evalyn Greb, LCSW, started two of California’s first Adult Day Health Care Centers( from 1973 to 1977). She organized and administered a hospital social work department, with a home health agency, an emergency room response program, and San Diego’s first in-patient hospice unit for three years. From 1980 to 2008, Ms. Greb worked for the County of San Diego and procured funding for and administered in-home, case management programs with 96 staff for elderly and disabled persons and their caregivers. Afterwards, she was the lead for the Long Term Care Integration Project (Medicare and Medicaid Integration). Since her retirement from the County, she has consulted with public programs, foundations, including the WellMed Charitable Foundation’s Caregiver Teleconnection for 12 years.
