In observation of Heart Month, WellMed employees in San Antonio organized a Valentine’s Day sale benefitting the American Heart Association. For a $10 donation to the charity, employees received two roses, chocolate and a greeting card for someone special. 

While some saved their purchase for their partner or spouse, others used the opportunity to surprise co-workers, friends and grandchildren with the mini bouquets.  The sale started on a Tuesday and quickly sold out.  After replenishing supplies, WellMed employees ended the sale with close to $1500 raised for the American Heart Association.  Through a matching donation opportunity with the AHA, the donation was matched five times, ultimately raising $7,500 in support of their mission.
