Online-Understanding The Fight, Flight, Freeze and yes, Fawn Response for a Happier and Healthier Life
All of us have some after-effects from our childhood Adverse Experiences and understand well how it feels to be continually on the lookout for danger. Caregivers assume that this hypervigilance feeling of being unsafe or defensiveness follows us no matter where they are in life. When we perceive a threat, our nervous system calls on many of our organs and systems to get ready for the “4 F” responses, since it has been our default response since childhood.
If our nervous system gets hyper-aroused, the body suffers as the person is always ready to react. This can damage a person’s ability to calm down after being triggered by something that barely resembles a threat. The implications for caregivers when left unaddressed is more anxiety, lower self-esteem and yes our own compromised health. Why do we think many caregivers pass on before their loved ones?
Join us this month to learn about our nervous system and how to learn vital techniques how to aid our body in its’ own self-regulation for a healthier and happier caregiver experience and of course our lives in the process.
