27,000 pounds of success

When the Optum Employee Community Council issued a food drive challenge, WellMed employees in San Antonio responded, collecting a total of 27,000 pounds of food for the San Antonio Food Bank, one of the bank’s top 10 drives of 2022, according to food bank Chief Development Officer Michael Guerra.

Physicians, ACPs and staff of WellMed at Leon Valley were top collectors in the clinic category and office mates on the fifth floor at the new corporate campus collected the most in the corporate category.

Second place in the corporate category went to the third floor of the new corporate campus with third going to the fourth floor of the same building.

In the clinic category, WellMed at Boerne came in second and WellMed at Ingram Park, third.

All participants celebrated with a happy hour and trophies presented to the winning teams.
