Our Health is our Wealth: A Health Promotion Series for Caregivers part 4

Caregiving is known to cause stress on a person’s mental and physical health. This series will address ways that caregivers can support their own health, while also considering respite care or ways to include your care recipient so that they benefit too.

Stress Management We often know what we need to do, but it’s hard to practice. Join us for a program focused on ways to cope with stress, and how to plan for stressful things like doctor appointments or test results. We’ll also outline resources for coping.

Lucy Barylak, MSW and Dr. Elliot Montgomery Sklar
Dr. Elliot Montgomery Sklar is a public health professional with vast experience in managing health programs and initiatives. With over a decade of practice in supporting the health of the public through academic work, research and service to communities across the Americas, Dr. Sklar shares his passion and expertise in support of diverse caregivers and the complex issues they face. Lucy Barylak, MSW, is a Social Gerontology Consultant with West-Central Montreal Health in Montreal, Canada. Lucy is a renowned expert in caregiving having won the Queen’s Jubilee Award twice, presented by the Canadian Homecare Association. She has also been a family caregiver for her mother for many years.
