SUMMARY:ZOOM - Taking your O2 First While Caring for Older Adults
DESCRIPTION:May celebrates the Trifecta for our organization; Mental Health Awareness\, National Nurses and Older Americans month . In response to all three\, this month’s presentation will be focused on the mental health of our powerful professional caregivers who take care of older Americans at WellMed. Becoming aware and looking to emotionally transform will assist our nurses and professional teammates to begin “the healing path of the road less traveled.” \nThough almost 450 million people worldwide suffer from mental health issues\, 2/3 of those affected never seek treatment. Unfortunately\, this is most likely due to social stigmas surrounding typical mental health problems. What’s most dangerous is that the overwhelming stress we feel as professional caregivers serving our older American patient base can develop into serious health issues\, both mentally and physically\, which can prevent our WellMed heroes from leading a fulfilling life. \nThe good news is that there is a “shift” happening in our lives\, in our society and our organization. Mental health and these issues are finally being more normalized. Join the ESR Team in May’s presentation of “Caregiver\, Heal Thyself” and begin the authentic path necessary to start trusting ourselves\, our teammates and the healing process. Tune in and become part of the “shift.” \nhttps://www.wellmedcharitablefoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Take-Your-O2-First-While-Caring-for-Older-Adult-May-17-21.mp4
