SUMMARY:Reducing the Risk for Falls in Older Adults and Family Caregivers
DESCRIPTION:Caregiver Teleconnection sessions are one hour learning sessions that can be done via Zoom or over the phone for caregivers of older persons. Experts from around the country share information important to caregiving. Caregivers will have the opportunity to ask questions as well as hear from other caregivers. \nOur sessions are geared for the family members taking care of a loved one over the age of 60. Professionals are also welcome to participate as well. \nMany people think falls are a normal part of aging. The truth is\, they’re not. Most falls can be prevented.   We will talk about how your body\, brain\, and environment can create potential risks and then provide you with some solutions to lower those risks. You will learn ways to help re-direct your older loved one to safer behaviors. \n
