Presenter

Laurie Miller
Laurie Miller founded Apple Care and Companion in 2006 along with her mother Joyce Friedman. Laurie has held every position in the company and is currently the hands on Administrator. Laurie became a caregiver to her Mother in 2007 and after her passing in 2008 she learned what her clients feel each and every day: caregiving for a loved one can be a rewarding experience but is often overwhelming and all encompassing. Over the years Laurie has been actively involved in the senior care industry in Dallas. She was President of the Dallas Area Gerontological Society for 4 years and is still an active member. She co-founded the Compassion Fatigue Symposium in 2012. Laurie has spoken on aging and caregiving issues at the American Society on Aging National Conference the Private Duty National Conference and various local events. She recently founded Conversation Ready NTX an initiative to help people discuss and share their wishes for end of life care. Apple Care and Companion is still a family owned business. Laurie along with her husband Mark Miller recently became the first Honor Care Network partners in Texas. The Honor Care Network is a pioneering national network of home care providers bringing scalable workforce management and technology expertise together with the high-touch personalized care of local homegrown care agencies.
